Key measures
The overall outcomes by which we will measure our performance are:
1) To meet the Local Area Agreement target of increasing participation in sport and active recreation by 4% in 3 years, using the baseline of the Active People Survey 2005/6 and re-measured in 2008/9.
2) To ensure that all school age children participate in a minimum of two hours of high quality PE and sport each week by 2008 and four hours per week by 2010.
3) To increase rates of adult volunteering in Bromley from 4.2% to the national average of 4.7%.
4) To halt the year on year increase in child obesity before 2010.
5) To actively support other cross cutting issues, such as Community Safety, Youth Matters, Choosing Health etc. where sport and physical activity can make a positive contribution to the achievement of local targets.
Objectives
Our objectives are as follows:
1) Improving access and widening opportunities for all through appropriate activities, pricing and programming.
2) Developing and sustaining healthy lifestyles for all.
3) Maximising resources and building capacity of facilities and people respectively.
4) Promoting the value and raising the profile of sport and physical activity opportunities in the Borough.
