07.01.2010 | Step Up: This new, innovative programme will give community organisations the skills and tools to deliver physical activity opportunities to the inactive

The PRO-ACTIVE Partnerships in conjunction with London South Bank University are developing a programme called Step Up to support 3rd sector sport and exercise organisations to enhance the opportunities they can provide to their local communities and engage inactive adults in physical activity.

Nominations for the 3rd annual PRO-ACTIVE London Awards for Sport & Physical Activity opened today.

The PRO-ACTIVE London Awards are the only awards that celebrate the contribution of thousands of people, the majority of which are volunteers, who make it possible of Londoners to take part in sports and activities.

02.12.2009 | Sports Legislation News: Protecting Vulnerable Children

The Children, Schools and Family Bill contains legislation which will impact on the processes for protecting vulnerable children as well as improving standards in schools. The Bill is designed to strengthen local authority powers to safeguard children in terms of registration and inspection, which will impact upon sports clubs in terms of how they implement child protection. The role of Ofsted in inspecting Local Children Safeguarding Bills will be set out more clearly and greater information sharing for child safeguarding will be supported.
