Panathlon Challenge Events

Panathlon 2009 is Go!

Already this year, over 150 teachers, school sport co-ordinators, competition managers, and community coaches have attended "free" Panathlon training days in London and Kent and have learned all about the sports invovled in the Challenge. The Panathlon charity has distributed over £75,000 worth of free sports equipment and coaching funds in London, Kent, Essex and Liverpool in preparation for the sixteen Panathlon events taking place in the next few weeks, involving around 2,000 young disabled people.

Football Kicks Off!The Panathlon Challenge football competition is underway! Twenty Four London Boroughs are competing in competitions across the five county sports partnerships during February and March. Around 250 young people with Severe Learning Difficulties are competing, having also received coaching and free equipment prior to the competitions taking place. Pictured here is the winning under 16 team from Barking & Dagenham who beat Havering to gold medal place in their East London group.
