THE EHA AGM
Hold the Date...
At its meeting on 27th April, the Board of the EHA agreed that the 2013 AGM would take place on Saturday 29th June at Sporthouse in Barking, London. This coincides with the finals of the National Schools Competition and will hopefully enable members to attend both events.
In order to ensure that the business of the day runs as smoothly as possible, members wishing to propose any items for potential inclusion in the agenda should send them to David Meli, CEO (david.meli@englandhandball.com) by Friday 31st May. This should include a clear outline of the discussion point, together with details of the person proposing the point and a seconder. The point will then be put to the Board and if any issue can be dealt with outside of the AGM the nominating person will be informed. Please note that any points made after this deadline will not be considered for the meeting.
Full details of the event including timings will be sent out in the near future, but the Board of the EHA hope to see as many members in attendance as possible.

EHA secures first major partner
Newham Flames Handball Club
Good news for Newham Flames as one of their boys has been voted Deputy Young Mayor of Newham. Trieu Ho who is a captain of our youth team received 930 votes in the election!
Also on the top of that, another of Newham Flames young players Tirath Singh Rathnour become Young Achiever of the Year Under 18, for for sporting success and voluntary coaching work, during the first Royal Borough of Greenwich Civic Awards ceremony.
"Working with these young people, supporting them and seeing them being recognised makes us at Newham Flames extremely proud." - Head Coach Konrad Markwardt
Sportivate
Due to exceeding the initial target, gaining more participants and successfully running a tournament, it is clear that there is a high interest in Handball in Plymouth and the majority of participants want to continue in forming a club.
There were a number of Marjon students and participants came from the local area and wider community as well; which will give the club a whole range of members.
We are currently in the process of setting up a club; we have definite interest from existing members of the Sportivate programme and are keen to expand and form a Plymouth Marjon Handball Club for both students and the wider community.
Once this is up and running we are able to enter into a South West league to play more games and tournaments spreading awareness, interest and talent in the game of Handball.
