We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile, self-motivated individual with a degree/diploma in a sports related subject to take on the role of Sports Development Officer.
Harris Academy Merton is a newly established academy specialising in sport and enterprise. The Academy has excellent sports facilities including a sports hall, floodlit astro-turf and tennis courts and new cricket square. There is a £5 million improvement programme scheduled to build a new Sixth Form Block, incorporating a large flexible use area for sports activities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile, self-motivated individual with a degree/diploma in a sports related subject to take on the role of Sports Development Officer. You will have good knowledge of sports development and a keen interest in providing sport to the local community. You will have proven skills in organisation, administration, leadership, marketing, finance and IT. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to enthuse, motivate and empower young people and the wider community.
You will manage and develop the community use of the Academy’s sports facilities. You will be responsible for creating and organising a variety of sport development programmes, including holiday courses targeting young people and developing new and exciting initiatives for the wider community. Working closely with the very successful Merton School Sport Partnership and Sport & Enterprise Faculty, you will be given the perfect environment to excel.
You must be prepared to work regular evening shifts and occasional weekend hours. An Enhanced CRB check will be required for this post.
